Kate Sherry, a junior, and senior Natalie Wang finished second and third, respectively, for host Palos Verdes High in California at the season-opening Palos Verdes Mini Meet on the 2-mile layout at the Palos Verdes Course in California. Sherry clocked 12:16.08 and Wang ran 12:29.36 for Palos Verdes, which prevailed in the girls team competition with 32 points.
